but now i cant seem to find where it went to try ir out :/
Im having the same problem. I just d/l it on my "new" computer with Windows 7 but it didnt set up a desktop icon to open the program with like the Vista OS did. A program search just takes me to the installation file.

I'll have to figure it out somehow...anyone have this installed on Windows 7?
it should have created a "Gouldian Genetic Forecast" folder in your start menu....install path on the C: drive would be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Gouldian Genetic Forecast v3.0" if you want to launch the executable from there
Found it...created a short cut to desktop. THANKS!

If you have a Mac as I do, you cannot download Carlos' forecast, it requires Windows. I have not tried the others but the Finch Forum one works great.

Regarding kylegood's questions about reversing the forecast : if you use the Finch Forum forecaster, keep manipulating the phenotype until it looks like what you want and that will give you the genotype you need. You would have to do the sexes separately. For example if you want to create a pastel cock, use the left bird to create the bird phenotypically and then you will see what genes you need to combine to get it. If you want a specific hen you would use the right bird. Using live birds of course the hidden splits are unknowable. Fun !
