Forecasting Programs for Gouldian offspring

Post by L in Ontario » Thu Jul 28, 2011 1:27 pm

Here are links to the most common forecasters for Lady Gouldians. They are all free and easy to use:

A very good free forecaster software is available from Carlos Matos and can be downloaded here:
http://clientes.netvisao.pt/carlmato/

The Finch Information Center (linked on the left side of the screen) has a very good section on gouldian genetics to help you understand it:

is there any software in existence that works in the opposite direction? for instance you input your desired colour outcome, and it gives you the genetics you need from the parents to produce that bird?
would be reallt interesting and helpful for those that want to obtain a certain colour but do not know how to get there.

I asked that exact same Q a year or two ago. I believe Tiffany (nixity) has it worked out on her website or in her mind. =D> =D>

Im having the same problem. I just d/l it on my "new" computer with Windows 7 but it didnt set up a desktop icon to open the program with like the Vista OS did. A program search just takes me to the installation file.

I'll have to figure it out somehow...anyone have this installed on Windows 7?

it should have created a "Gouldian Genetic Forecast" folder in your start menu....install path on the C: drive would be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Gouldian Genetic Forecast v3.0" if you want to launch the executable from there
