Do gouldians get their feathers later?

Post by lstyles » Sun Jul 31, 2011 2:54 pm

This is probably a stupid question but do gouldian finches get their feathers later than zebra finches? I have my first gouldian chicks and parents are doing good job of feeding them and they are getting bigger. They are about 8 days old I think. They don't appear to have any feathers yet. I have a set of zebra chicks of about the same age and they all have some feathers. I am guessing their are just differences between the two species but thought I would ask....can't imagine its possible to have a set of bald gouldians
thanks,
Lori
