Look What I Got Today!!!!

They are an early B-Day (Aug 15th ) present from my wife!!
The hen looks like she is ready to burst!
My friend didn't want to sell but she had them in a big cage with
other birds that kept bothering them in the nest box.
So I promised I will sell her any young in the future.

Your wife spoils you!!! Those are gorgeous birds. I've never seen red headed cut-throats before. She must have had to search high and low to find them! Happy early birthday to you!

The hen looks like she is ready to lay.
She has been going into the nest box also.
They both slept in it last night.

I had those at one time, very quiet docile birds....use an open front keet box with them, give them lots of coco fiber....sweet little birds Congratulations!!!

One of our SA birds... I've been fortunate enough to see some in the "wild" in a friends garden. Lovely pair you have there. I hope they make very many young for you to celebrate your birthday.

They are little characters!
The male started sing yesterday and this morning.
Very nice, it was short, but he was trying!

I think they should be called "Paradise Finch"
as I have seen on some sites.
A little classier name for a classy bird.

Now, I have not named them yet.
I need your help " My people of the finch"
A good historic name of a couple!

They sleep in the nest box and go in
and out all day, so fingers crossed they breed!

The male has been singing nicely!
The song is like a wild bird song, kind of hard to describe.
