First 2 Gouldians brought home

Post by ranchnanny » Fri Aug 12, 2011 11:10 pm

Well I have had my 2 Gouldians for about one week now. I purchased them from a fellow in Redmond, OR who has the most magnificant Aviary complete with water falls/large pond, tropical foliage, koi fish, turtles and 175 +/- numerous tropical finches/birds.
He picked out one from the two clutches he had. One is starting to show a black head and yellow belly. The other has not started to show color yet. Once they color out he said I could exchange them if I wanted another color.

They seem to be getting along fine with the other finches. I took the Zebras out of the flight cage to keep the peace. The Spice finches were a little weird the first day but they have settled down and don't seem to be afraid anymore.

I did get to see the one Gouldian that is showing color jumping up and down on the perch. That is the cutest thing I have ever seen. So young and acting like a big boy....

Congrats on the new additions!!...They are adorable!....I'm betting, that even if they are not the colors you expected, you won't be giving these guys back!!
