Dimond doves

Just got myself a pair of Diamond dove. :=D they are so pretty! any advise on how to breed them, food, ect. --would be helpful--

They are very easy to breed! A half open nest, seeds, and a calm place! They breed as much as quick and easy like zebras! Good luck!
After 2-3 clutches the problem will be to stop them breeding! They will continue lay everywhere eggs!!!

i find it hard to sex them....i think i have a pair..but not exactly sure..the guy i got them from also say they're a pair..but im not confidence. let me take some pics..and maybe you can help me sex them...

Does the male coo?
Does he look thicker in the neck and head?
His ceer, the ring around the eye should be
thicker than the female.

He coo the first time i set them in the cage..but havent since..sounds like hes cooed..that orange part around the eye..his is thicker then hers if thats what you meant..so it is a male for sure then?

Give them time, they are young
and need to get used to their new home.

You will know for sure one is a male when he does his "bow-coo" to the hen. He will spread his tail feathers, bow to her and make a courting coo sound. But it looks like you have a pair to me, too!

As Jerry said above, you can tell by the amount of orange around the eyes. Looks like you have a pair.
And as also said above, getting them to stop breeding is the issue. I have to pull eggs all the time. The fake eggs don't fool mine any more. I have enjoyed mine a ton. They are getting very tame now. If you work with them, you can get them really tame.

Did you make sure your pair are not brother and sister? Doves usually have 2 babies so it is common for breeders to sell them 2 at a time. Then the unsuspecting buyer sees "a pair" in a cage. You would not want to breed related birds.

I did make sure they're not bro & sis..i can only trust the breeder so i take his words for it.
