Iam think of getting 1 or 2 pair of grassquit finch from Puerto Rico . Does anyone raise them or know anything about them ? Thanks
I can have them ship from Puerto Rico to Buffalo but i dont think i can't ship to Canada. Have u ever had bird ship to Toronto? You are more than welcome to pick up in Buffalo Iam right off the peace bridge. What is a fair price you think for a pair been a hard of bird to come by?psilocybin6 wrote:I have had them for a number of years now (and have posted some pictures of my pairs here and there on this forum)... Wild-caught pairs are not easy to work with at all, they need large flights to walk-in aviaries, a lot of greenery, live food, and complete privacy; but once you hit 3rd+ generation they are much easier to work with. The main problem with them in Canada is lack of numbers. So pm me if you can ship some heads to Toronto; we need new blood.
Yes, the Cuban Melodious breed easily for me.Dennis 1145 wrote:same size and in the same family but diffrente in color u can goggle them , i can post picture because it said is to big for the space , but if u goggle it u can find then yellow face grassquit . Do u have any luck breeding your cubano?

If not, most likely I can get someone (a broker) to meet with you across the border. Send me a pm if you like to share the contact information of your source or if you are able to sell a few heads once you receive the birds.
Prices vary from place to place. A few years ago they were readily available and were roughly the same price as the Cuban Melodious but nowadays they are hard to find and cost twice as much... The last pair I sold was priced at 400 (NLF 9 Generation Male X NFL 10 Generation Female).
