Cuban (Catching them)

can anyone help me, everyday there are cuban finches flying in my yard grabbing as much nest material as they can then flies off the juveniles usually follow can any one help me with a technique in catching one i want to raise one or two see how they are. they seem so energetic. and funny to watch as they fight over food or nest material. i am gonna get my camera and when they are back i'll take pics.

Try getting a cage with a big door. Sit food and neting things inside.
Sit a few feet away with string attached to the door and pull it closed when birds are insode.


Lol. I doubt if it will work but hey tleast I tried.

hi i really
dont think you should be taking these birds from the wild,if you want some it would be advisable to buy a pair but i may warn you that they are extremely vicious even to there own kind they have been known to attack thier own young and even fight through the wire of cages when they have been placed alongside each other,they are not a bird for a novice bird keeper and i ceratainly dont think you should be taking them from the wild

I agree with Ken. I've heard that they are very aggressive and I'm a firm believer in just buying birds that are captive bred. I hate that we catch birds from outside and bring them inside for our own selfish needs :(

You can purchase cubans from someone... they are pretty pricey though.

no one sells them over here i only wanted to keep one for no bad purpose only to feel the responsibility of having them, only male mainly come here
