Saw my first pair of black cheek Zebra this weekend

Post by Eel Noob » Mon Nov 12, 2007 2:38 am

All I gotta say is these birds are beautiful. I'm really thinking about picking them up for $40.

How does the females supposed to look like with these? Because they had a black cheek male with a all white female. From what I gathered so far females supposed to have a cheek patch too. I'm thinking maybe they just threw a random female in there.

The female black cheeks do have a black cheek patch... however, it can be really hard to get a female black cheek with a complete full patch. If you do find one with a full patch, keep her, b/c they are hard to find!

I have a few pics, as I have two female black cheeks... I'll post them later though :)

Thanks

Can't wait for pix

I never kept Zebras because they're a little too noisy compared to Societies but I'm seriously thinking about picking these two up.

Zebras really do have quite the personalities. They really are not that loud, especially if you only have one pair and always give away the babies.

I'll check them out again and see if I really want to buy as I don't think the female's a black cheek.
