Societies With Nest Problem?

When I give a new pair a nest, I start them off with some shredded tissue. They then have a cup of nesting materials. Well, this society pair prefers to take out all the tissue (even after I keep replacing it) and sleep on the plastic nest bottom. They have a hamster ball up in the corner of their cage (I saw the idea at petsmart and loved it!) and it's plastic of course, isn't that uncomfortable? They shove all the tissue from the nest into the water cup! They left one tissue string in the nest. Also, if I added a 3rd society (probaly another hen) would the trio fight? Thanks!

If they do NOT like the nesting material they will pull it out.
My societies will pull out the paper towel lining of their nests. Seems they do NOT like paper towels. For my hens I finally had to tape the paper towel down to their canary nest, so they could not pull it up.

You need to find other nesting matierial and let them pick what they like; timothy hay, orchard grass, burmuda grass, coconut fiber, etc.

Unlike zebras, societies can be together in a trio w/o problems.

I'll give them some other stuff. I just like them to have some soft lining. And alright, I might get a fawn hen.
