New Societies

Post by DanteD716 » Fri Jan 27, 2012 8:47 pm

Well, I went to this little petstore for three reasons:

There fish and birds look amazing
I have a lonely zebra hen
Feeder fish for the oscars

Well, little did I know I would be leaving with two society finches. I really like the fawn pieds, and they had about 30 societies cramped in one small cage! No idea why; they were on sale 2/for 10. I got two fawn pieds hoping to get two hens for my two lonely boys. Well, I looked under there beaks and it looks like I have a male and female, and the male sang so it looks like this method is really working for me. Anyways, there wings look like somebody tried clipping them and they're growing back in, and the hens tail looks cut clean off, the males tail looks like it is also growing back in. I'm glad to save the both of them. Now I can get some fawn and crested babies. Pictures later.

Thanks! I just hope their feather grow in nicely, they're not the best flyers because of it. I was shocked, they usually keep their birds in nice cindition, it is also the first time I've seen them with societies. They must have not known what theywere getting into. Also, if I may add, they had three female cockatiels and one male, and said the darker grey ones with pale cheeks are boys and the ones with yellow faces are girls, they were confused!

Thanks Cindy! I should be banned from petstores, they put out the sales when they know I'm coming! My dad said, "I don't know how you do it, but everytime you get me to buy more birds" I'll probaly move the societies to the avairy once I get it all set up. Then I want to add a spice pair, a gouldian pair, an owl pair, a canary pair and one RH parrotfinch. :D I have an open cage now that I moved the societies into the cage i made, so you know what that means. I need a new pair!

Well if I keep running in to all these societies my aviary will be stuffed with them! :D I cannot wait until I get it!!!! And they are adorable, I have a hen who has been in the nest all day, it is high up in the cage corner, so I can't see what she has in there
