What is a society!

Post by JamesR » Sun Dec 09, 2007 1:10 pm

Ok, im totally aware that i run the risk of sounding really silly right now.
But ive seen the term society used for bengelese finches and such. I just wanted to know is a society finch a certian ONE finch or a number of different types?
Im confused.

It's very easy to get confused with this species, since both terms are used so much. A Bengalese finch is the same as a Society finch, just a different name. I think in Europe, as in other parts of the world, Bengalese is used more often--in the US, Society is used more often. All the same, and a great beginner bird.
