Plucked zebra 2 weeks later

Here are some before and after pictures of my badly plucked young zebra hen.

The first group includes pics of when I first got the zebras home on January 29 and then on February 1 after she'd been away from the pluckers for a few days.

The second group is composed of 3 angles (as best I could get, she wasn't in a posing mood) taken today, February 12.

I've very pleased to see so much improvement so quickly. :D

Thanks everyone. :)

The poor thing was all alone in a small cage until today when I was finally able to get her into a flight cage. I removed the fledging from mom and other sister's cage and put it in with her. So far, so good. Now I can't wait for the youngest one to get it's feathers back.

WOW, it was BADLY plucked.
She looks good now :D

Let her rest for a while before you set her up to mate. Loosing all those feathers and growing them back took a lot out of her.

Not to worry! She's still awfully young, but even so, I have no plans in the near future (if ever) on getting a mate for her.

I am so glad you took those zebras! Goes to show you what a little TLC and eggfood can do for a poor finch. If people would just make the effort. You've done a great job! =D> =D>

Thank you, Deborah. It was nice to have your guideness with the quarantee meds and such, which I'm sure helped with the speedy recovery. :D
