I'm not an expert, but the color is different. Isabel looks more like all fawn or lighter in color than a regular.

So Fawn Cherry finches have other name as Isabel Cherry?
Google it and still don't see much besides the color is different.

That's all there is to it. A lighter version of the normal coloring.

You can sometimes see both terms used for the same mutation. In Cherry finches, I've only seen the fawn, which is a lighter version of the normal. In other species, such as Shaft-tails, you can have both fawn and isabel, with the isabel being an even lighter version of fawn. So you need to make sure that the breeder is correct in stating the mutation--ask the breeder if it is a fawn mutation or an isabel mutation. If he doesn't know, or can't differentiate, I'd say it is probably a fawn. The one fawn Cherry finch I saw was very light, it would be hard to be much lighter, and an NFSS judge referred to it as a fawn.
