Wow, they are beautiful! The red is so deep. Do you feed anything to help the red color? They look great. Congratulations!

I personally think that their brighter color is due to the freeze dried bloodworms that I feed them regularly. The freeze dried bloodworms are for Beta fish and on the container it says its suppose to give the fish a deeper brighter color so maybe its having that same effect on my birds.
That is interesting. I was feeding mine those too and the color changed over the course of a month. Now, the product is not the reddish-brown, but just brown. They don't like those as much. Which brand of FDBW do you use?

I'll give that brand a try. My Fire cock is getting more maroon, than read right now.

I'm going to have to try that brand as well. I have a couple of show quality Fire finch males, so I'd like to get a more intensive red on them.
