How often should I let my Gouldian Finches bath? They love to bath. I take their water out as soon as possible afterwards because it gets dirty.

You can let them bathe as much as they want.

Finches love to bathe, they do it all the time...at least mine do. I have at least 3 containers of water available for drinking and bathing.

my gouldians NEVER bathe. I have had water in the cage all the time until it gets dirty and then take it out. I did this for about two or three months and never had them go in so I have never put it back in. Does on type of finch like it more then others?

My Gouldians do bathe, but less than the other finches. They often will sit on the edge of the bath, go thru all the motions, but never actually get in the water. My Stars are my most enthusiastic bathers--sometimes four at a time will pile into the hanging bath, and throw water everywhere!

One of my Gouldians always jumps right in. The other is more tentative. Once they get in the water they seem to sit there for a few moments until splashing like mad. It's a joyful sight! :D My Zebra's love to bath also!

Mine do too! No matter what time of day or night, if I switch water the parrot finches, spices and nuns are in the water in an instant! Little buggers - that means no water for the next day! :? Good thing I also have water tubes for those cages......

I have a couple who like to bathe, and if I put in a Smart Crock about 1/2 to 2/3 full of water, they'll hop in. I also have a couple who don't like to bathe, so I do give everyone a spray bath at least weekly. I notice even the ones who act like I am spraying them with scalding acid get all fluffy and happy and start to preen about half way through their "torture." I change the Smart Crock daily, so there is always an opportunity for bathing.

(My parrots are the same way - two are big bath-takers and one would just be a little pile of dirt if I didn't spray-mist him. He LOVES being sprayed, and the other two run from the bottle. They can never make it easy, can they!)
