New to the World of Finch, advice needed

Post by otto&lucy » Sun Feb 03, 2008 2:16 pm

Hi! I'm so happy to have found this site. My husband and I decided to expand our family and adopt finches. We've been researching and preparing over the last week or so and have ordered a fight cage (30"x18"x18") along with other necessities and once everything arrives we'll be on our way to find our finches.

My question is, how many birds are appropriate for this size cage? I was thinking of 2 Society and 1 Spice, I heard those species are tolerant of each other. Do you have any advice or suggestions?

Thank you!! :D

Glad to hear that you're doing your homework first. The cage youve ordered will work great, and I'd even suggest 2 spice in addition to the 2 societies - a single spice might end up the third man out.

You have a beautiful cage! I saw it earlier while i was looking through the posts. You'll have to post more pictures once you get it all situated, I'm curious to see how it turns out. :)

I did post some more pics of my decorated cage in the "Gallery" section....there is a link at the top of the page if you are interested. They are in the "Cages, Bird Rooms & Aviaries" section. :)
