Zebra Finch is Hissing

I have one Zebra finch and one Society Finch (both are male). I've had them since June of this year. The pair were great pals up until last week. Now the Zebra finch will "hiss" at the Society. He puffs up a bit and blows air out loudly and it sounds like hissing. Any ideas as to what is going on? He'll do this a couple times during the day.
