New waxbill...

Post by Hope » Wed Mar 19, 2008 3:40 pm

I just got a new little black-rumped red- eared waxbill. He's so cute and smaller than my orange-cheek.

A local bird store usually only has parrots and some tiels. I went to get some supplies and thought I heard finches. Went looking around and surprise! There were 3 pairs of green singers and 1 little waxbill. I was so tempted to get the green singer as I've heard they have a lovely song. But, I would have to get another cage and I only had room to take hame the little waxbill. But, there is a bird fair next week-end  I am going to check for cages.

I love the way they flick their tails back and forth.

I love his rosy brown color. When I find something different it's hard not to want it [-X I'll try to post pics.

The bird fair is:
Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive, Glendale
There is a $5 entry fee. If you go to "www.finches.org" you can find a list of fairs and dates, there are several in the next few weeks. Sorry, I don't know how to put in a link.

I love to go and see the varieties and talk to the breeders. Lots of good stuff. I never come home empty handed \:D/

Good or Bad... :?: :?: :?
