Blessed With Gouldians
Right now I have two young birds at three months of age, four more of their siblings ready to jump the nest at 25 days of age! Plus two pairs with five eggs each, should hatch in a little over a week.

Parent raised birds? I have heard a lot of people saying that they don't rear well. But then again most people i know that keep them always parent rear
Bird species bred up till now : Zebras, Bengalese, Javas, Diamond doves, Canaries.

Re: Blessed With Gouldians
Yes parent raised with a twist!
The male is usually the tosser of babies?
So I use a divider and keep him apart for a week until they are too big to toss out of the nest box. He then will start to feed them.
I have had no luck with societies, I put a couple eggs under a pair DNS the hen tossed the Gouldian eggs out and they were viable.
So for good or ill I only try to have parent raised babies.

I've had to separate a father from the hen for a few days too, if he tossed the chicks. After several days of her feeding them, I placed him back in, and he ended up feeding/taking care of the chicks with no additional issues.

I hope they jump soon!
So I can move the whole family to the flight cage.
I'm going to give mum and dad a break till spring.

Super! Like that you found a way around the tosser and you still get parent reared young.
