Meet Lilly

Post by Jen » Mon Dec 29, 2014 10:22 pm

Meet Lily, my new Rosey Bourke! She is sooo beautiful!!! I've been admiring these beauties for a long time and always look at them at the bird shows. Then ranchnanny posted photos of hers and that "set the hook" for me!!! A local breeder ran an ad selling some of her babies a few weeks ago and being the "addicted, crazed bird woman", I kept her number.... You know the rest of the story...here she is!!!

Thank you! I'll try to get better photos when she settles in and is more relaxed. I think she is beautiful too!

Gorgeous girl! We considered adopting some Bourkes at the last show, as well, but ended up getting a couple of Linnies to pair with some singles we had.

Well, you know I'll be on the "hunt" for a new fella for my Lilly ! That is part of the fun/addiction, right? ranchnanny this lady had several mutation there that she is going to start breeding. I'm not familiar with all of them (yet)...one pair she just picked up was solid pink with yellow all along the edge of their wings...very pretty!!! She had a pair of "blues" and another pair with the male being very dark blue with reds in his coloring...he was gorgeous!!! I'm definitely keeping her phone number "handy"!

Congratulations!!!

Bourkes can be addicting.... set three pairs up of rosey up for breeding, eggs in one nest box already and I will be adding 2 lutino youngsters to the flock in a week and a half. Their personality is wonderful...hope you can find her a friend soon.

Oooh, she's lovely!
They're one of my favorite birds, Rosy Bourkes. I'd love to have another. They're a bit shier than some other keets, but that shyness is more than offset by their beauty and lovely personalities!

I can't wait to see more photos of Miss Lilly!

Jen

Very nice, I have been toying with the idea of getting Bourkes, they seem gentle and have such nice colours.

Very cute bird. I love the pink with yellow (rubino?) mutation, but have never seen one in real life.

atbird Rubino? The breeder I purchased Lilly from had a pair she recently purchased that was all pink except for yellow on the wings...beautiful birds!!! I'm trying to learn a little as I go about these shy beauties. I will have to look up Rubino and see if that looks like the pair she had.

Lilly is so fascinating...she is always looking around quietly, taking everything in...looks like she is always "thinking" about something...

Yes, that photo of Rubino is almost exactly like one of the pairs that the breeder had....so pretty. My Lilly is settling in but I hate to see her without one of her own species. She's so quiet and is always looking and taking everything in...kind of freaky... like she knows something??!!??
