Don't wait so long next time!
Candle the eggs at five days and if no veins?
Take them out.
More proteins, egg food and small meal worms.
Good luck!

That's too bad. Maybe the next batch of eggs will good.

The first round of eggs had two chicks but male killed them. I removed him this time but all were empty. Just put the male back in seen them mate twice already. Fingers crossed

I know nothing of goldfinches. Is the males behaviour unusual? His first clutch?

I believe this a common behaviour with male goldfinches.

Yes some gf males you get very aggressive once in reproduction period. what you can do is to get them together only for mating. keep them separated with the separator and let the female work on the nest. remember that the best time is early morning to put them together. once they wooohooo
a couple of times separate them again. then lunch time and then early evening till the third egg is laid.

Re: No luck this time ( goldfinch)
I have been leaving them together and removing the eggs each day and replacing it with fake eggs until all eggs are laid. Then I take him out and give the hen back her eggs. Is this method ok. Also do I need to turn the eggs that I have removed?

if the pair fights a lot is best if you do what i said above IMO. but if they dont then is fine if they stay together.
eggs is best if turned but most important is placement. they need to be in a cool area (not cold) and dark. i put the eggs in the basement in small boxes full of seeds. this way i turn them twice a day. once the 4 egg is laid i put the others back in the nest
