Re: New Arrivals
lovezebs That is a Cherry finch (or Plumhead). They are very interesting finches to have, I used to have some. Not the easiest to breed for me.

Re: New Arrivals
NRJ What a wonderful collection of new finches, you got a great assortment! I used to have Stars and loved them. They are so inquisitive, they are usually the first ones to try out new foods or head for the bath dish. Fairly easy to breed, using plastic nest boxes and coco fiber or grass. I never fed live food with them, just lots of egg food.
I only had Parrot finches for a short time, but they are very active and need lots of space to exercise or they get fat. They love to bathe more than any species I had, they would soak the cage and bathe multiple times a day.

Re: New Arrivals
Parrotfinches like live food. I give mine raw corn on the cob, Apple quarters, and overripe pears. My parrotfinches like to breed in budgie nestboxes. My stars don't tolerate nest checks and leave chicks if I come near. Very aggressive to other birds near nest.
