"Flame" has a sibling!!!!!

Post by Jen » Sun Sep 20, 2015 10:44 pm

Found a second fledgling this morning. At first I thought it was the same little guy and maybe he lost his band from the day before. But Nope! I saw Flame with his band then saw this little guy on the ground with Mom and Dad chirping like wild things trying to convince him/her that this big human monster was to be feared!!! LOL....swooped him up and banded it then returned him to his extremely excited parents. I'm so excited!!! FINALLY!!!!!!! FIRE BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone! These two were such HUGE surprises. I had no idea! I've really made an effort to "leave everybody alone" and not to poke around too much. I've added some nest in different areas along with artificial greenery everywhere to give more privacy. I also noticed tonight how much brighter red my male Fire is. He's very much in breeding condition along with his pretty mate. So cool....... :D :D :D

Madcat
I don't remember hearing a "song" from my male fire. I do hear him chirp continuously when I enter the aviary and I am near one of his babies. It is just a continuous "cheep" cheep" "cheep". My pair are such a private, inconspicuous birds, they make it a daily job to go "unnoticed".
