Just sitting here, having some ice tea, after having vacuumed my kitchen one more time.
My eyes just happened to land on Zazu, my light back (?) Zebra male. He was carrying a broccoli floret in his beak, marching up and down the flight floor. I think it was the big green thing that first caught my attention.
Getting a good grasp on it, he flew up to a perch (no easy task with something bigger than your head). Looking up, he took a big breath, and up he went to the next perch. Finally, he made it up to the seed cup that he and Zoe call their own. With great effort he hoisted this thing up and over the rim, and fluffed his feathers with a great deal of pride.
Zoe, took one look at this green monstrosity in her seed cup, said 'meep' and with seemingly no effort at all, piched it out of the cup.
Poor Zazu, just sat there, as his gift went flying downwards, just barely missing a terrified Society (YIKES! the sky is falling!!!) and rolled on the floor of the flight. The look on his face was priceless.
So what does he go and do???
Those of you who own Zebras, can probably guess

Zazu the dauntless, flies down to the broccoli floret, picks it up and.....
I just watched this scene unfold three times

Gotta love them Zebras, but they are not the brightest bulbs in the bird world.
