Cordon Bleu question

I have a pair of cordon bleus and a pair of owls in the same flight. Every once in a while I will find them sitting in the nest the owls have made. Is this normal behavior for them to steal a nest? Do they need to be separated?

Thanks in advance.......

Since I haven't kept my CBs together with other species for the most part, I can't really answer your question, but CBs don't usually sit/sleep in nests unless they are in breeding mode. If you can do it, it might be worthwhile to separate them, give the CBs their own cage, and see if they will breed (if that is what you want to do).

After posting this my male died....very sad.

I have since aquired another pair and had put them in a flight with the solo bleu hen......now the male has bred both with one nest.

Should I seperate the hens or can they be all in one flight?

If the Cordon Bleus are getting along, I'd leave them together. It is unusual for a trio to work with them, so I'd keep an eye on things. Even hens can become aggressive when they don't want to share the male (can't really blame them!).
