Meet George, Paul & Ringo....

Post by lnlovesorange » Fri Mar 04, 2016 11:35 am

Hello all, well I saved the societies from the pet store, and of course could not break them up b/c they've been together for a couple months, so I bought all three... The crest (i call it hair) on Ringo... just cracks me up everytime! Hence the name, my friend says, with that hair do he looks like a Beatle!!! Perfect! LOL, unfortunately the only one I've actually heard singing so far ... You guessed it Ringo... The only one of the real Beatles that DIDN"T sing!! LOL, I'll keep listening.... but here they are.... I've heard them all make little noises, Ringo has a loud (loud for a society) high pitched whistle, similar to a gouldian, and he sings kind of like a Zebra, but not as loud.. and obnoxious (i say that with love tee.hee) So I'm not sure of the sexes, I gave them a nest to sleep in, and they slept on top of it... They are pretty freaked out, but they were loving the food last night, and Ringo was singing away this morning, I'm wondering if he's my only Boy.. Then it'll have to be Georgette (George for short) Paula, and Ringo..... LOL
BTW you better with Societies do you mind just checking their feet... I thought they looked a little... IDK something, that's why I tried to get close ups for you guys. Started the ASM & scaly feet treatment today.... I'm so excited to get them into the bird room, they'll be so happy!! Oh and get this, the guy at the pet store... couldn't catch them... He's in there with a net for like 5 minutes, finally I'm like I don't know if you have aliability thing, but I'm really good at this, and I can catch them with my hands, I won't need the net..... So I caught them!! I'm like yeah keep stressing my birds out dummy... Actually he wasn't bad, he even thanked me and was impressed with my bird catching skills.... Anyway, I'm in LOVE.... <3

debbie276 They don't see to be Discolored, but as my first societies I'm not sure, they aren't as orange as my Zebras feet.... the one in eht middlel, Paul, his feet seem dark, and i noticed kind of a ... bulbousness to little Ringo's... I'll do some research on their feet color to see if they have any discoloration, if so I'd say Paul may have some cuz they seem really dark to me... I can also try to get a better pic. Thanks Deb!

Would suggest Georgina, Paula, and Ringo. The females twitter. The boys flat out SING. They are the most lovable birds. Very cuddly with each other.

Spreckles I was think Georgia... But Georgina is nice too... Yeah I'm wondering.... I thought they were all boys, but now it seems just little noises out of the (i'm thinking that George and Paul are Chocolate Pieds?) I'll give it a little more time.... just in case, but you might be right... 2 girls one boy... uh oh...... and I have 4 boy Zebra finches, but hopefully it'll be ok because they are already all paired off.... We'll see in a couple weeks.... I think I'll add some more greenery to my bird room for my girls to hide (if they are girls)

Hmm 2 crested? I think only the Fawn is crested, but I see what you mean. Believe it or not though, that white is just the pied on the top of the head but in the pic it does look like a crest, I'm pretty sure it's not though... I'll take a better look when I get home.

Thanks all. I'm dying to go home and see them. They were scared, timid last night, the 2 darker ones seemed REALLY freaked out..... But considering what they went through (between the guy waving a net around in a 30in cage....) and then the ride home in 25 F degree weather.... and the dark box (should have brought a travel cage, but It was so cold... And a new home, diet change and now medicine) They're already adapting really well... scaring the hell out of Marshall...LOL...
@lovezebs I heard some whistles.... like i said less than 24 hours I've had them, so i'll see... they had no idea what to do with the nest, they slept on it! HAHAHA. Actually the Canary was gone when I went back! Only the bully and the big guy was in the canary cage, the little pecked head was gone! And I can't name any of my birds John one ex of 9 years named John, and current PIA named John.... so No naming my birds John!!! LOL

Oh I hope they had taken him out for recuperation? Unless Elana drove all the way there to pick the little fella up  I'm not sure of the chances that another crazy bird lady would have rescued him from the big bad bullies. Lets hope it wasn't bad news
