Finally found a gouldian breeder

Alright so I found a breeder that is selling pairs of gouldian finches that have already mated and also found out what is their name in my country

(Guld amadina)..
I want to know , before I buy the bird , what is their cage ambient supposed to be like, what to look for when I am buying my first gouldian and starter things like that , in my country the economy standard is lower so they will probably be cheaper then in other countries their cost is 30 euros for a pair that has already mated , he also told me that they are in their molting stage , and I think that they actually are ..The man that is selling me the birds keeps I don't know maybe 1000 birds , I cant find that kind of service in all pet stores in my country combined together and he seems like a reasonable dealer and a nice guy ..
I went with my friend and he bought a female canary and will try to mate it with a goldfinch to get a bastard , so i used the chance to check out everything else he has , and he has a lot of birds ...
We made a pretty nice cage , made out of BBQ sticks and wooden corners , it looks nice I will post a picture of the cage soon.

Excellent price for them. That price is well under half a private seller's price here and a fraction of what a pet store would ask.
Good luck.

Yes, it is a good price.....
However, have you ever heard the saying--"If a good deal sounds too good to be true, it usually is too good to be true!"-- Not sure how it translates, but I hope you get the idea.
Personally, I would tell your man, that you are interested in the pair, but that you would like to wait until they are finished moulting. I would also try to find out how old these birds are (do they by any chance have closed bands with dates on their legs?)

I echo what Elana said!
How old are the "all ready mated" birds?
I would not move gouldians that are in a molt.

lovezebs Yes I know that phrase , but it is for me as if you were buying a 60 euro pair (standards are simply lower

), I will wait until they finish molting , I will tell him to call me once all the pairs have done their molt, just in time I will finish my flight aviary on the terrace (designing an aviary/flight 200 cm long, 85 cm wide and 180 cm high and will soon start building it after I get the materials)

I think that it's wise to wait until they are finished moulting. Also, check their feet and nails when you next see them. Young birds, should have pinkish young looking skin on their feet and legs, and nails that are not overlong and yellowing.
It's just a cautionary word to the wise. There are some breeders out there, who will sell their old pairs, who have been over bred to the point where they no longer produce fertile eggs for a lower price, claiming that they are a 'proven pair' .
I'm saying this, because I wouldn't want you to end up being ripped off my friend.
By the way, a pair of Gouldians from a breeder here, will cost around €102.00. From a Pet Shop, close to €190.00 and up. If I pick up a bird through a private sale, I am very careful about looking the bird over, to make sure that I'm not being lied to, and that the bird looks to be active and in good health.

lovezebs Yes I know and I very much respect that , I will look up the birds once I see them again , and will look for all the clues you have told me , thanks a lot that really means so much !

debbie276 Currently the aviary is only on a sheet of paper , I will start taking pictures once I start building it

I'm guessing English is not your first language, crossing a Goldfinch to a canary gives a Mule (better word to use than one you used )
I'd agree with others that's it's best to wait until they finish moult and you've aviary finished before buying them, even if they are a proven pair they won't breed until after they finish moult and there's also the risk that the stress of moving them during moult might make them ill.
