The Pardalotus Punctatus

Post by lovezebs » Sat Mar 26, 2016 12:40 am

Hello Fellow Finch Lovers.

While looking at some pictures of Diamond Sparrows, I came across a picture of a little bird, that was definitely not a Diamond Sparrow (even though it was listed as such).

It took a while, but I discovered what this tiny cutie is... The Pardalotus Punctatus.

Has anyone ever come across this pretty baby?

lovezebs - good morning Elana. Sorry I haven't been around but life sometimes just gets too busy. I googled your beautiful little friends and found a cool video clip towards the bottom of the Wikipedia page. It shows a pair digging a nesting tunnel. Amazing little birds. Thanks for introducing yet another species to us.
Happy Easter everyone!

This is a great post, thanks. I constantly am finding out about bird species completely new to me! I don't suppose I'll ever figure them all out, let alone see even a fraction of them in person.

Thanks again

Thanks folks....

I'm wondering if any of our Ausie friends know more about them.

I guess we should check with wildbill down in the land of Oz, if anyone keeps and or breeds these little beauties (?)
