Can Canaries be kept in the same cage? Are they social? Do you think that they are louder than Parakeets?

Generally, no, in my experience with both genders. Adult males will try their hardest to kill each other. Hens will usually argue constantly and be neither happy nor enjoyable to hear (their arguing is an awful screechy growl), though hens don't usually kill each other. I recently had to separate my four 7 week old siblings as they began to fight constantly.

You can sometimes keep several canaries in a large aviary or flight room. My little guys still get along in free-flight, but they don't want to share a cage.

Chirp-wise, much quieter than parakeets, but a male's song is louder. However, it's a more enjoyable noise.
