Hello,
So I got a new female Gouldian that is 8 months old and just added her to my flight cage as she is finished with quarantine.
I was a bit apprehensive as I added her to my flight care that houses a bonded pair and their 2 young that fledged a week and a half ago. I have been watching very carefully and kept her quarantine setup in case here was any fighting where she had to be removed.
I am currently on the hunt for a male for her.
Anyways there has been no fighting what so ever and things are going great...almost too great.
The fledglings will sleep in the nest on some nights and the new female will go in with them. She is also feeding them. The parents don't seem to care at all and they have been very doting parents.
Pretty much I have 2 hens and one cock raising the two babies.
Is this normal?
Thanks
