Cinnamon Star Finches

I have been offered a couple of male cinnamon star finches at $30 each.
have never heard of this mutation before and am wondering if anyone has seen them and what they think. the pic is of a cinnamon hen

The only difference to me is that the body looks a little lighter than the standards. I would go for them, at $30 you can't lose!

I believe the cinnamon is the same as isabel, a mutation of the Star finch that is lighter in color. I had an isabel hen, and one of her daughters is isabel. It must be recessive, as most of that hens babies are normal.

have decided not to get them. going to put the money towards even more gouldians

Good idea, mick, you can get 6 Gouldians for the same price as these two, and the Stars are both males, so then you'd have to find mates for them, too!

We were recently were recently visiting a friend of our aviaries and got the opportunity to see some of his Cinnamon Stars. While I can appreciate them, and the work it takes to breed for them from scratch, they are not my cup of tea. I prefer my standard variety Star. I think I'd have gone for the Gouldians as well.
