My Strawberry boy, has finally decided to colour up

I was quite surprised yesterday, when I saw this wee red bird flitting about the flight. For a minute I thought it was my African Fire, but no, it was Mr Berry himself in all of his handsome male plumage.

He appears to be very proud of himself, lol.

Beautiful! If you can get them to breed, you can surely sell the babies for a good price, as they've gotten scarce again.

They are more than willing, but the problem is, that most folks only want the males (fully coloured and singing). My pair seem to produce baby girls, rather than boys, plus the offspring would be related....
