More Javas!

Post by Nerine » Tue Dec 06, 2016 6:46 am

Just found this, and it's just a 15 minute drive from my place:

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.htm ... ail_alerts

There looks to be a pied and a white one....so tempting.....trying to stay strong....but they're only $20 EACH! And so nearby....

If I give in, I'll post photos later lol.

Errr...after I looked at the pix in larger format, I think it was just the way the gray was sitting. Not an agate. The pied is a pretty bird!

Beautiful birds - though I still like the normals among them. ;-)

Nerine - What a great way to start the day. These birds all look great. Can't wait to see which ones you pick. I know w.l. likes the normals best but I have to say the one that I noticed first is the one with the white head.
Will be checking the forum several times today, so don't let us wait too long...

lol! I had other commitments today, but I am heading over there tomorrow.

I am only going to 'look', but something tells me it may not end that way ;)

Nerine - Good luck with the 'I'm just going to look'! When I was 10 my parents and I went to 'just look' at a litter of wire fox terrier puppies... You can imagine how that ended...
Looking at the pictures you posted, do you have an idea which one(s) you would pick? Just theoretically speaking...

Nerine

You have no idea how many times I'd gone places 'just to look' at some bird or another. I don't think I've ever come home empty handed from these excursions, and at times I ended up coming back with a lot more than I'd expected, lol.

Have fun, and post pictures

I have a thing for pied/variegated or all white birds, I think they are especially beautiful; so probably the pied and/or white one(s) in the upper and lower part of the first photo. I also really like the fawns and silvers, but the rest of the javas look like normal grays to me. I'm going to see if I can get a male or a pair...

ah-hem....theoretically speaking of course!

It's the same breeder, from whom I got my canary last spring. He has quite the impressive setup, and I felt like a kid in a candy shop! He has also a separate heated shed where he keeps a variety of hookbills. In the finch shed, he has many other kinds of finches including zebras, societies, gouldians, different varieties of canaries, etc.

I just hope I can stick to the javas.

A quick update...

I was waiting for the breeder to email me back; I have an appointment now for 9:30 this morning.

Keeping my fingers crossed...
