This little guy was all alone a the pet store and I couldnt resist. I thought he had beautiful and unusual markings for a Zebra. At least for the Zebras available around here. I may eventually introduce him to my Societies when I get my Aviary finished but it will be awhile. In the mean time, ill look for another buddy for him, possibly at another pet store, if I can find an odd one out or another single. I wouldnt feel good buying just one out of a pair. Anyway, Im hooked on this little fellow.

What a cutie! Congratulations
To me he looks like a normal coloured boy, but what do I know?
You know, whenever you take a really close look at Zebras, you realize what attractive little birds they really are.
I think we get so caught up with all the fancy, expensive, finiki, fancy species that come our way and become so fascinated with them, that we forget the lowly little Zebra Finch.
As prolific as a rabbit, as tough as nails, as tenacious and pugnacious as a Terrier, and as bold as a lion, this little bird survives under the worst conditions and lives to raise it's young against all odds. This tiny feathered lightweight scrapper, is always ready for a rumble, and will take on opponents much bigger than itself and rarely backs down.
It also comes in an amazing variety of colours and mutations, probably more than any other bird that I can think of.
Enjoy your little boy

I found him a female, I adopted her from a local bird rescue here in town. They had a whole cage full of Zebs! It was hard to just pick one, but I did.
Meet Speckles.
My Wife named her, I named the male Atticus.
Oh and BTW I did remove the nest.. dont want baby Zebs right now. They both seem very happy and they are very active little things! My wife laughs at the squeeky toy sounds they make.
