I am going by beak color also. My BH WB Blue hens look just like her, and they have produced babies, so I know they are hens.

Well, it looks like she needs a new name now! Maybe 'Stevie' instead of Morrissey.
How quickly do female Gouldians' beaks darken when they are coming into breeding condition? I'm guessing if hers darkens over the next few weeks (months?), it will confirm once and for all that she's a hen?

Yes i agree with Lori and Debbie it's a hen. the beak is grayish so she's probably not in breeding condition. My blue hen looks very similar in color. She has great color in her back with the darker blue. Keep a close eye on her and if she sings you'll know she is a he, but fairly confident she's a hen.

I wasn't planning on it but if she comes into breeding condition I might consider it. She's so lovely it almost seems a shame not to. I'll have to think about it.
What do you think?

It's totally up to you, lol.
Does she have a favorite boy that she's hanging out with?
I would keep an eye open for the mating dance by any of the boys, and if she's receptive to any one particular fella. These pairings usually work out the best in my experience.
If you choose to breed, offer several sources of Calcium and hard boiled egg mixtures, along with greens, spray millet, etc.
Then if you have her being receptive to a boy, I would move them to a private cage, and offer a nest box and nesting material , and see what happens.

These are my first Gouldians and I only have her and one RH PB juvenile male so there isn't much variety available to her at the moment. I was thinking about going to the WMass Bird Expo next month so I might keep an eye out for another Gouldian or two.

I do give grated egg, soaked seed, and fresh vegetables to my birds daily. I give small live mealworms to the birds that enjoy them but the Gouldians haven't shown much interest in those. They seem to gravitate towards the soaked seed, the egg, and spinach.
