New gouldians. I couldn't resist

Picked up these two beauties at a local pet store. The female is just stunning. Her purple breast is gorgeous and very dark.

It looks like 2 males to me, one being Lilac Breast.
Could be wrong if the lighting is off but all that blue around the head color makes me think male. Not to mention belly colors look the same darkness.

That's what is so amazing about this female. She fools ya for a second, her breast is soooo dark. and she has a fabulous RH. But her beak gives it away. Here's a front shot of her.

Thanks Barbara! I can't wait to get them into the adult double flight! But they are in quarantine for a while. I got them this weekend. So far they look health, seem bonded and have two bands per bird of different colors, so Im sure they arent related.

Wow! I saw the dark beak but assumed it was a young bird.
Great colors, it's amazing how dark her belly looks and how much blue it seems is around her mask color.
Can wait to see what color chick's she produces

Wow she has some intense colours... if those two aren't related I could see them making some fantastically coloured RH/PB/GB babies!!!!

Ohh I hope so! Even if they dont breed successfully, they are wonderful to look at. :YMDAYDREAM:

GouldianGuy Thanks!! I wasnt going to buy anyone gouldians, just breed my own. But these two I couldnt pass up! Each bird has two bands (female has green & yellow bands......Male has purple & pink bands), so I am almost positive they are not related.
