The two boys are settling in nicely in their little quarantine cage.

I woke up this morning to a different Socie song from my other Society boys, and I thought, hey that's probably Alfalfa.

Buckwheat, is a little more shy, but Alfalfa, sings at a drop of a hat, and he looks so darn cute when he's singing that he just makes me laugh.

I mean look at this guy, he's just hilarious...

My trio have four babies just starting to feather now and at least two must be my crested girl Poppy's because they've got the silly wigs on their heads.

My Socies and Zebras, have gone into crazy chicken mode
Laying dozens of eggs, mostly duds, and if and when one hatches, they either toss, or bury it.....crazy chickens

Oh my gosh look at this guy. My wife loves the birds with the flat 'crested' type heads, but they just remind me of Moe. Haha... He's adorable.

Crested breeds are my favorite. Still waiting to see the gene pop up in other species - I have a crested canary and crested socies now, had a zebra in the past. You know they have crest budgies too? Very rare though.

And unfortunately, I can't collect like I used to for now, space is very limited. I have three cages, two hung on the walls so they're just over head height. One of those is a huge 30 x 18 hung on hooks sunk into the beams. Looks stupid, but it's the most efficient use of the space I have for now, and I got my societies back into their old cage and out of the tiny little thing they'd been in for the past few months.

I saw a similar bird in a shop last fall, not quite the same, but close. Absolutely adorable.

He is so cute, that I would stomp on people's feet, elbow them in the ribs, and kick them in the shin bone, to get to the front of the line to get him.

I mean look at that face, the 'do, the moustache, he is just an adorable little darling .

What cuties! Our local PetSmart occasionally has a couple lighter socies and they always catch my eye (my boys are chocolates.) I even got my husband to admit that they're very attractive! But I'm at max capacity in my flight, so have to resist. Enjoy your new guys enough for me, too! ;)

Hmm... Well, that does sounds like a pretty solid prediction. Perhaps, once the button quail are settled in, I can ease my husband into the idea of another flight... Yes, yes...
