Thought I would revive this topic. Anybody else doing these ? Pictured are boys from last years hatches, no surviving triples yet.

Very pretty birds. They look larger than regular Zebras. Are they as big as English Zebras?

They are larger all around than the wild type. The hens from these pairings are even larger and fatter, too large to survive in the wild, very slow off the ground.
I have only seen the English in photos so can't say if these are comparable.
The FF birds I got from Laura Ragas in Louisiana were all large birds and their babies are too. Most of these are at least 1/2 from her breeding.
I like a 2xblack with orange cheeks more than the 3xblack because of the contrast. I very much like the BC fawn, anybody have these ? Also working with FF/OB combinations towards the Orange bird.

Nice looking birds.
We don't have the darker birds around here.

Beautiful birds! I am currently trying to breed black faces as I have a black face and a black face pied.

Triple Black is a combination of BB, BF and BC.... if you add ob to the mix it is like taking a step backwards... orange and Black work against each other and orange wins... try to use full or split BB, BC, BF

BF is dominant, it is strongly recommended not to breed dominant to dominant, you can end up with young that have issues...you need one bird that is dominant in the pair to give you dominant mutation offspring.

for the FFOBBB the more orange you introduce into the line the more orange you will see in the young.

My BF and BF pied are both males and I have read about the factor that can leave chicks dead in shell which is why I wouldnt attempt breeding BF to BF. I have the BF pied paired to a normal hen and the BF paired to a pied CFW.
