Sheather

Awww a finch preening a budgie. That is cute! The butt feather snatching is hilarious! :)) Even more amusing because I know at the time your kids were free flight in the house.

Their antics must have been a daily source of laughter.

Babs oh golly, he is just too dumb. Gives her so many chances! Gets lost in closets, and squished behind dressers, and stuck in millet feeders! And for an enterprising little wife, oh so tempting. It would be so easy to just squash him a little more. To just pluck those feathers while he is so helpless. To just leave him there for a few days, stuck in a closet. Oh and she cannot help herself! She needs a trip to budgie boot camp for the summer. It would do her good. Some knee bends while it is still dark out, a few feather pulls when a quarter can't bounce on her nest, and most importantly, when she is bad, some push ups to relax that temper.

That budgie is trying to be friendly to the zebra, who is obviously either not amused or misinterpreting budgie's movements and chirps.

But yes, the budgie could shred that little zebra, if it so decided.
Had one budgie in my flock who was a real witch, screaming her head off all the time, over anything, nothing, whatever. Then she started having "issues" with certain other birds, and picking fights at times.
Early one morning I heard screeching coming from under the cage cover, that just didn't sound right (not like usual sun rise noise) and lifted the cloth to find that horrid bird had another pinned to the floor of the flight cage, beating it with wings, ripping out neck feathers trying to rip out the victim's throat. Poor victim bird was covered in blood, as half of bottom beak had been broken off, and also had numerous scratches.
Evil bird spent the rest of her life in a much smaller cage (nearly got just immediately tossed out the door into the snow, hawks, owls, etc), injured bird was nursed back to health and put back in the giant flight, and is still alive today.

But yes, budgies really can be vicious killers. I have seen it.

Babs They say it is run by budgies and cockatiels. Very tough on the tough mean birdies. Very very hard to get out of. They say they clip the wings so no one can leave. They also only eat kale, and oat groats, Addy's least favorite.
