Whenever I see a picture of these tiny little guys, my heart just does a little flip-flop, sigh. I know I will never have them, but I absolutely love them, and envy anyone who has them in their aviaries

u are right Elana, those birds come straightly from heaven .wonderful birds and i think it's to much difficult to keep even if we have them .

Fairy wrens are such interesting birds. If I remember correctly, they are socially monogamous, despite their extreme sexual dimorphism. This confused scientists for quite a while until they discovered that they routinely cheat on each other. The females mate with most brightly-colored males and raise the babies with their apparent partner; it's not rare for a male fairy wren to help raise a full clutch of chicks that aren't even his own. This could be quite the issue for captive aviary breeding.
