Zebra dilemma

Post by sparrowsong98 » Tue Oct 31, 2017 10:15 pm

After much thinking, I decided that at least my female zeb needs a new home. I cannot take her plucking him and biting me anymore. But, would my male accept a new bird, or should I ditch 'em both and get societies (I will eventually be adding in more birds, probably societies and maybe a java pair). I would love to keep the hen, but I just cannot take much more of her sassiness. She is always bickering with him, while he never touches her. Also, how long is the very longest I should leave little Mr. With just a mirror? I hope to replace her soon, but it could be a little while as I want all his feathers back and he needs his new buddy quarantined.
I currently own:
An Australian shepherd
Many chickens
4 goats
A cat
And a bunny

Can you place them with a divider between them, so that they can see each other and interact but she can't pluck him?

lovezebs I really want to get more birds in the future, and my parents have a rule about cages. One cage. Only one. If it is divided (I wanted budgies so I lobbied for that approach) It is two cages. For those reasons She really had better find a new home.
Elana, I expected you to visit this thread, trying to convince be to keep my girl, especially with a username like yours. =))

I never convince, lol, I just offer options  .

Did your parents stipulate the size of the cage? :YMDEVIL:

So finch pairs are just incompatible. How long did you say you had had them together? You could get both of them new mates.

A bit off topic, but I have some little chicken pullets who are 9 weeks old and those suckers rule the roost, and strike fear into the hearts of their enemies. =))
