You are both lucky to have aviaries. My landlord allows flight cages but I can't adapt a room or cupboard in a aviary (which is fair). At the moment, I have 13 birds. Right now, almost everyone is separated for the breeding season but usually (1) my Gouldian pair, Society pair and Star pair share a 37L - 27W - 60H flight cage, (2) i have a pair of canaries in a 31L - 20 1/2W - 51H flight cage, (3) my oldest (geriatric) canary in a flight cage of the same size and (4) a new setup of a pair of Java and a pair of Cutthroath in a 37L - 27W - 60H flight cage. I also have smaller cages (empty).

After the breeding season, I plan to create two double flight cages, each 74L - 27W - 60H, one for smaller quieter finches (Star, Gouldian, Society) and the second for boisterous ones (Java, Cutthroath). Like I previously posted, the Masked Grassfinch pair would go i one of the two. :)

Flight Feathers : I have seen your pictures on your instagram. You have beautiful birds and they look quite happy in their aviaries!
Currently caring for two Javan, two Gouldian, two Society, two Star, two Cutthroath, three canaries... One Siamese Fighting Fish and about sixty-ish plants around the house.

Previously kept cockatiels, budgies and one lovely Barred Parakeet, plus small mammals and fish since I was a kid.

Thank you so much! That must be so annoying not being able to have aviaries :( You still have a lot of birds tho! And that’s good you can still have indoor flight cages etc! I can’t really have any birds inside because we have a cat...

Yeah... and what’s worse is that yesterday morning my very special turquosine parrot, rainbow was dead on the aviary floor. (He had been very sick the day before) I’m absolutely devasted. :( :( He’s survived sooo many sickness and injuries... but I think he died from still having infection inside him from the last injury which he lost a lot of blood from :(

Well it was just Rainbow with infection as I think he would have still had infection inside him from when he lost lots of blood. This was about 5-6 weeks ago that he had this injury. He had a huge wound, poor bird... He did recover tho but then not yesterday, but the day before he just suddenly went down hill do fast.... And he has survived so many injuries and illness. I don't know for sure if it was infection or not but I'm thinking it was because my other turk is fine, just lonely without her mate.
