I’m getting them sometime in the afternoon. Won’t have pics till that night most likely. Once I have pics I’ll post them on here so you guys can tell me what colors they are and what color babies I’ll get.

Flight Feathers when you first introduce them to ur zebs I’d leave ur phone on record in the aviary and then walk away and go back ten min later and watch the recording and see the behaviour because some bengalease/society’s are very calm and some zebs tend to try and bully them

However a lot do stand up for themselves and won’t take it and the zebs back off and get along nicely even preen sometimes

And yes that’s good then if the males young he will pair up quickly with the new female
FINCHES I HAVE
Bengalese
zebras
Java sparrows
Silver bills

PETS IVE HAD

Hi, I’m going to put the bengalese in my third aviary and it will be just them in there (with a nest box...) As my parent Zebs are in my breeding cage feeding their 5 babies and then I’ve just got two more pairs of Zebs and one odd female in the main finch aviary along with the Turks canaries and cockatiels and goldfinch and then there’s quail spread out between all the avaries. My parrot aviary is pretty empty too.

The reason I’m giving my bengalese their own aviary is because I figure they will breed better on their own and it will be nicer for them to settle in, having an aviary to themselves and just talking to the others through the wire. I look forward to watching them when I let them out with the Zebs tho!

Flight Feathers they are actually really nice and am happy you have a trio I really think that trips are better healthier chicks and more backup against other finches

Anyway you are going to do great with them what sex is the extra one
The one on the second pic looks like a boy

And that crested seems like a single factor pied which is good news you could breed to get self crested

Thank you! Is a trio of two males and one female okay?

Yes the finch in the second pic is the male. I don’t know the gender of the extra one.

That would be great although it’s mate is pied also so not sure that I’d get a self?

Flight Feathers no sorry I worded it wrong I mean if in the future you breed it with a self you will get a self crested
But with the ones you have got you will get crested

And 2 Male and 1 female would be alright I’ve Hadith males than females before and they will just breed with the dominant male but then all will still share the bed

Flight Feathers and what’s good aswell cos u have three aviary you can keep ur Male off spring have them in aviary one
Then keep ur females in aviary two then have the parents in aviary three then when u get a different bloodline bengis add them into the offspring aviary

Yeah and then I could get unrelated pairs although the “unknown” finch has started singing so looks like I’ve got two boys and one girl! I was given the extra one for free anyway. So what I might do (after I’ve bred one lot of bengalese) is seperate the extra male from the pair and then keep a female baby from that pair and put it with my extra male. (Or even keep two females) Although what would be better is to buy an unrelated female. If I keep all my bengalese together, will they still have a nest each??

Flight Feathers to Make them have a nest each you will have to

Leave one pair in there to start a clutch and when the clutch has hatched and they are tearing the chicks then let the other pair in this way they won’t let them in the nest and the other pair should go into the other nest :D this is what I do
