I have owned finches for years, and I have noticed they stick to their own kind, I have a Cordon Bleu Male (who has a Cordon Blue Female) that is in love with my Strawberry Female (who has a Strawberry Male )
these pairs are house together in my aviary....the male Cordon Blue is always with the Strawberry female, grooming her, sitting up close next to her, their partners seem to be ok with this.....anyone had something similar happen like this? Also to note, I have no nests in my aviary, because I don't want to breed my birds.
Thanks

Re: Cordon Bleu Male in love with Strawberry Finch female
I once had a gouldian male team up with a society male. They were together constantly, and the male gouldian actually slept in a covered nest with the society. A bird "expert" told me to separate them, so I did, and the male society died a week later. The gouldian never paired up with another bird. I've always regretted that I took her advice.

aww, that is so sad, and no I will not be separating them, if their partners don't mind then either do I.
