cheep cheep cheep

Do gouldian cheep cheep cheep constantly?
My male is cheeping almost constantly all day long.
Is this the norm or because he is lonely?

My gouldians only called constantly when they were separated. Maybe yours had a mate at his prior home?

No, this is not normal behavior.

Males who are happy and content will sing, not cheep.

Thank you

I'm sad that he is sad.

I'm trying to find a gouldian companion for him but not having any luck in my area.
I have someone that may be able to travel next week for me, since I don't drive, but first have to find a gouldian.

It is hard to find reliable breeder. There is a breeder not close but within traveling but he refused to send any pictures. It is very hard to get pictures from anyone. It makes me uncomfortable when someone tries their best to not show the birds nor where the birds are living/kept.

If anyone knows a reliable breeder with healthy gouldian I am doing everything I can think of to get this poor fellow a companion. There was a breeder close to me but he sold all his birds last month.

Anywhere between Sacramento to Fresno to San Jose CA

For traveling with a bird, with air condition in car, should cage be partly covered?

As long as the air conditioning is not blowing on the bird, and it is not cold inside the car, your bird should be ok. You might want to cover a corner so that he will feel more secure. I use a pillow case and fasten it with metal clips you can get at an office supply store. Be sure the cage is secured so that it won't fall, or have someone hold on to it.

goldfinchowl If someone doesn't want to send photos of their birds, I would hesitate to buy from them. For one thing, you should be able to see a photo of the particular bird you are wanting from him/her, to make sure it is what you want and in good condition.

I found some gouldian. Actually I ended up getting 3 young split to blue gouldian.
I thought my adult male would be really happy to see them but he doesn't seem to really notice them. He had reduced his cheep cheep today but now he seems to be doing it more instead of less. He just flys around and mostly ignores them. They sort of joined him on his main perch but he just kept flying around and they started exploring the cage, the 3 young ones together.
