My New Birds Pics

Post by BirdCrazy » Tue Feb 24, 2009 3:43 pm

While I was out taking pics of my baby Gould I thought I would take some pics of my new arrivals. I finally got some Societies after hearing how wonderful they are. They are a Crested Chocolate Pied and Crested Fawn Pied male pair and really want to be dads. They were constantly sitting in the food dish so I had to put a nest in there so the other two birds with them could eat! They sure want some eggs to take care of.

Anyway, the same friend of mine that gave me the Societies also had a male Strawberry. I had bought the hen from her about a year ago but she wanted to keep the male for song and looks. She finally agreed to let me buy him but he came with his new friend, a male Gold Breasted Waxbill. What a little cutie the GB is!! I am now looking for hens for them. I never realized how pretty the GB was until I got this guy. Here are some pics of the new guys on my block:

What a pretty group of birds!! I would love to find a crested society, but haven't seen one here in Wisconsin yet. Your other birds are stunning as well, I am partial to the GB. (They have such adorable faces. )

Thanks for sharing!

Yes - that's what's so great about Societies - 2 males make great parents and no laying of eggs to worry about :!:

Boy every time I see a GB I want one. They are soooo gorgeous!

You are a lucky woman to be given birds, and they are all very pretty - the strawb is so colourful and the societies nicely marked. I think one could have dozens of societies and have no two similar!
