I just got a pair myself. They're in with my male goulds, a pair of orange cheeks and my maiden blue cap hen. They seem to get along with everybody - I've had no problems at all. As for sexing, I've heard that it's very difficult. I have no idea what sex mine are!

Wow.. thanks for the info, I really want to get a couple, however I just added 3 new birds to my bunch today. I don't know if my fiance would put up with 2 more.

I just got two new goulds and one albino society.

The goulds are so pretty, one is regular, green back, red head, and purple belly and the other is yellow back, red head and white belly.

He had one for sale that was absolutely pretty but he wanted more for because he said he was rare. He was a light blue back, white head and black belly. IS THAT RARE???

(White and purple "belly" is actually called white or purple "chest"...the belly referrs to the underside of the gouldian from about the chest to the vent which is typically yellow.)

I have never heard of "black" chested...do you mean blue or purple chested?

The light blue colored cocks (often called "pastel" or "Single Factor Pastel Blue") with white ("salmon"/"beige"--genetically red) colored heads do demand a higher price because they are somewhat more rare and difficult to produce. They are actually 2 different mutations rolled into one: blue body and [heterozygous/single factor] yellow body.

They may sell for somewhere between 200 and 300 dollars US, typically (usually somewhere in the middle).
