Star color fading

My female star has lost all the red on her head. My male isn't as full headed as he use to be. They are in an indoor cage with full spectrum lighting.
Has anyone had this happen :?: Do they need certain vegtables or a supplement to keep their color :?: They are good eaters.. eat about anything I give them.

They are either moulting or allopreening (preening each other). I had this happen to a 'chunk' of red on my male. The red feathers will grow back in.

I have noticed the same thing with some of my Stars. I don't think full-spectrum lighting, at least the type that most of us use, would have any effect on color. I think I read somewhere that carotene can help with red coloring. It's found in carrots, I know. I may try some 'color' foods on mine to see if it helps.
