What kind of nest do the shaft-tail need?

Post by maru » Fri Aug 28, 2009 11:25 am

Hi!

I have a pair (I suppose they are male and hen; at least that is what the seller told me, because one has a light orange beak (hen), and the other one has a bright orange beak (male)). Anyway, they are trying to pick newspaper, I suppose they want to breed. What kind of nest can I put in their cage?

The lady who I will be buying some from (when they are weaned) uses the common wicker finch nest basket and those seem to work just fine.

I have used both the hooded wicker nests, and the wooden box nests...both seem to work fine. BTW they love white feathers.
